Trust in Me A Novel Wait for You Book 1 eBook J Lynn
One of my favorite New Adult books is J. Lynn's WAIT FOR YOU (you can read my review here). I loved Cam from the moment Avery smacked right into him. Getting to read all the events that happened in Wait For You from Cam's point of view in this book did not disappoint. In-fact, reading this book made me love Cam's character even more. From understanding his persistence with Avery, finding out what really made him tick, the trust he wanted in his relationship with Avery, his relationship with his family, and friends, and knowing his thoughts and feelings really made this book just as good of a read as Wait For You was. For me, I didn't think that would have been possible.Leave it up to Jennifer Armentrout to make me swoon all over again. Cam is one of those characters whom is going to be hard to beat when it comes to well written, swoon worthy characters. Really. Sure Cam is hot. He has the right moves, and the looks that could get him any girl he wanted, but, there's more to Cam than that. He's not a character who's egotistical. He has all the traits that make him a fabulous well rounded great guy. I love his honesty with those he has in his inner circle, his loyalty, the relationship he has with this sister and parents, and what he does for Avery. I loved getting to read about his thoughts and feelings about Avery. I saw Cam in a whole new light.
Cam and Avery. These two are perfect together. I love seeing how much Cam was effected by Avery from the moment of their first meeting down to how things end at the end of this book. No matter how trying or frustrating things got, he knew what he wanted with Avery, and he was damn sure he was going to get it. He did all sorts of things to get her to break, and give into him. I mean things that would make you weak in the knees. Reading those from Avery's point of view was great, but knowing the meaning behind those actions from Cam's point of view was just plain hot. This boy takes determination to a whole new level.
I thought Wait for You was swoon worthy, yeah, that book doesn't even compare with the swoon worthy parts of this book. Getting those moments from Cam's point of view was hot. I loved his nickname for Avery, Shortcake. There were so many little moments I loved getting from his point of view. I swear, there needs to be more characters like Cam. Even with all the swoon, there is some heartbreak. That break up scene, and the scenes when Avery opens up to him, about killed me all over again. Reading these moments from Cam's point of view was worse than reading them from Avery's. I love that Armentrout gave me all the emotions that made me love these characters from the first moment I read about them. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I squealed like a little girl over moments. I swear only Jennifer could write characters that made me love them, and want to smack them all at the same time. lol
The other thing I loved about this book was getting to see more of Cam's relationship with his family. I loved when Cam talked about his family in Wait For You, and scene when Avery met his family. I loved them even more in this book. One of my favorite moments with Cam and his family where when his Dad told him, and that a girl like Avery was worth chasing, and when his mom told him to not give up on her. Then there's the relationship he has with his sister. I loved how protective he was of her, and how that protectiveness played a role in his relationship with Avery.

Trust in Me A Novel Wait for You Book 1 eBook J Lynn Reviews
Wait for You was the first new adult book I read and it instantly hooked me to the genre. In fact, if you regularly check my reviews, you’ve probably noticed that at least 80% of the books I read are in this genre. What can I say? I’ve been just been chasing NA men looking for someone who measures up to Cam.
If you’ve read Wait for You, you know the story and you know how incredibly amazing Cam is and how he cares for and opens Avery up. Seeing the story from his POV was incredible because there are so many pivotal moments in Wait for You that you need to know what is going through Cam’s mind at the time. He knows something terrible has happened to Avery and he has his suspicions on what it might be but he hopes he is wrong. Avery won’t open up to him and he really struggles with this because he needs her to trust him. In Trust in Me, we really see how Avery’s denial affects Cam. During there separation, he seems indifferent in Avery’s eyes, but the truth is, Cam is torn apart. Knowing this made me fall even harder for him.
Cam has his own demons that he is fighting and regrets that haunt him every day. He is a fiercely loyal brother and friend and I adore this about him. He put himself out there to protect his sister and while he wishes he would have handled the situation differently, he doesn’t regret it because he was protecting Teresa and that shows what an amazing brother he is. He exhibits this protectiveness with Avery too and I loved getting into his head and seeing how much she affected him and the way his feelings evolved for her. It was obvious that he saw something special in her and he fell hard before he even realized it was happening.
We also get to see a lot more of Ollie and Jace in this book since they are Cam’s closest friends. Ollie is hilarious and while he comes across as a major playboy, I think there is a lot more to him than meets the eye and I’m wondering if he and Brittany will get their own story. I also really liked the little bit of insight we get into Jace and the insinuation of issues Jace faces is almost a prelude into what we will discover in Be With Me. I also really enjoyed the interactions between Cam and his parents, especially his Dad. They have a few nice heart to hearts and it shows how much he respects and cares for his parents. Another excellent quality that solidifies Cam’s swoon-worthiness.
Overall, Trust In Me was a great alternate POV novel. I liked that it wasn’t just a replicate re-telling of Wait for You, only in Cam’s POV. There were scenes between Cam and his friends and family that didn’t exist in Wait for You and that added an additional element to make this book it’s own story.
JLA’s writing style is so gripping and powerful that she has the ability to draw you into the story itself.
“You’re a good guy, Cam.”
“No, I’m not. I’m only good with you.”
Avery and Cam run into each-other on the first day of Astronomy class. Cam is quickly taken with the young woman, and wants to know more about her. While she on the other hand, wants nothing to do with him.
They become friends of sorts, but Cam wants more than what she is willing to give. He knows something happened to her in the past, and he is determined on trying to get her to crack.
They both have to accept and leave the past in the past, if they ever want this relationship to go anywhere. But that’s easier said then done.
Trust in Me by JLA is a fun, witty, love story full of steam, and with a pinch of angst.
