This book is entertaining enough and has a throroughly likeable main character, a reporter with an extraordinary amount of bad luck, who never does seem to learn from her mistakes. The plot, unfortunately, is just plain silly. It is totally unrealistic and a bit mad scientist comic book-like. As a romance novel, it also has some credibility strains. The action is non-stop and takes place over a short period of time. I don't think I'd be jumping into anything that involved taking huge risks, mere hours after there were 3 separate attempts on my life.
Especially when, though I was spared, people near and dear to me were killed-- like so much collateral damage. This doesn't stop our girl from taking stupid risks or even slow her down.. It's too bad, but even though I liked the main character, she is clearly an idiot. Noone takes a bath alone in a hotel room with driveup access and cheap doors and locks while someone is trying to kill them.... someone known to be in the area, because... how could he find me here in Las Vegas? I didn't notice anyone following us, but I wasn't really paying attention or trying to move about incognito. Not the brightest bulb.... unfortunately, I can't see the author doing better in this series, given the dumb heroine, cardboard cutout FBI agent she's infatuated with, and the ridiculousness of the plot in this first book. I'd go back to the drawing board, leaving dear Whitney and her love interest to a single adventure. If you have a brain, you'll want to skip this one

REFLECTION by Kim Cresswell is her debut novel featuring FBI Special Agent Blake Neely and Journalist Whitney Steel.

I was drawn in and engaged with the story from the first page. The story is captivating and the characters likable. This book has it all the ingredients mystery, suspense, romance, action and a touch of humor.

Agent Blake Neely has been deep undercover for almost a year as head of security for Biotech owner and Billionaire, Nathan Shaw. Shaw has cloned the first human who is a small female child, but the outside world is unaware of this, although there are rumors. Even Blake hasn't seen the child. But another purpose of Blake being undercover is because he believes Shaw is responsible for his sister's death.

Whitney's ex-husband and Senator was recently gunned down in her presence. Shortly after his demise, Whitney receives a video that her ex-husband had in a safe, proving that Shaw has indeed cloned a small child.

Now the action really starts. Both Blake and Whitney have recently survived attacks, now they team up to expose Shaw, take him down, or out, and save the child.

Fast-paced and gripping, this is a riveting story that action readers will enjoy.

A great hero and heroine, a nasty villain, and a controversial subject make a really good book. The plot was good, as was the character development. It seemed to soon for them to fall in love and the sexual scenes and language were unnecessary and detracted from the story. I do want to read the next part of ctheir story.
A friend recommended this read and I am glad. Just the perfect mix of suspense and action adventure mixed with a mystery/romance. Excellent characters, setting, and complete plot. Once you start reading, you will not want to stop until that last page is read.

The only drawback is some early formatting errors and a spattering of typos. I am anxiously awaiting the release of Retribution, the sequel.

I highly recommend reading this novel and have added Kim Cresswell to my growing list of favorite authors.
If you like action and suspense with just a little romance thrown in you will enjoy this book as much as i did.
The two main characters come together while both are trying to expose Nathan Shaw for what he is and the multiplying bodies that are left in wake.
Whitney Steel is a bright, energetic news reporter trying to get the story of a lifetime. Blake is the head of Nathan Shaw's security detail and therefore has some inside information.
Personally i hate spoilers so i try not give them.
I am an avid reader and quite picky in my likes. This one was definitely worth reading, Always believable and moved along at a nice pace throughout the whole book.
I hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
I raced through this novel well int the night, neglecting my own work, lost in Whitney's life. Kim Cresswell is a superb storyteller. I will read more by this author but first, I need to catch up on sleep. If you like fast paced well constructed mystery, this book is for you.
This is an incredible story. Seriously. I'm not one for mystery suspense crime novels, but Kim somehow kept my attention through the whole thing, and I super excited to move on to Retribution! She's a word magician! Loved it! Would totally read/listen again! Plus Blake is yummy. If nothing else, give it a shot for the hot guy and incredible sex scenes!

The story is at great cost because everyone she cares about is ending up dead not to mention the multiple attempts on her life.
