Faerie Lord The Faerie Wars Chronicles Book 4 Herbie Brennan Books
Of course you should buy this last book in the Faerie Wars series and find out what happens to all our friends and enemies--who lives, who loves, who dies.... While I loved the first three books, this last seems like it was written in haste, without an outline; there are inconsistent bits, contrived bits, and some bits that are way, way out there and over-the-top. I had the sense that Mr. Brennan was quite busy moving on with his life, perhaps even working on other books, and just trying to tap on the keyboard long enough to give fans an end to the series.I loved Ruler of the Realm and really felt that Brennan was getting better and better with each book, in terms of knowing his audience and maintaining the balance between suspense and humor. I simply liked this book, but mostly because it wrapped up some, though not all, the loose ends. Definitely you should get it, though. If you've enjoyed the series, you won't be disappointed here.

Faerie Lord The Faerie Wars Chronicles Book 4 Herbie Brennan Books Reviews
I have ordered Faire Lord three times and the first two times have received the wrong book. I have returned the last book for a refund. Both books were recorded wrong on the back by the company I purchased them from. They were coded as Faerie Wars the first book. So far all the books in this series have been very good. I hope this third order for Faerie Lord is coded correctly.
Luv, luv the The Faerie Wars Chronicles. Great writing and great characters with superior imagination!
itle Faerie Lord by Herbie Brennan
Pages 430.
Time spent on the "to read" shelf 1 year.
Days spent reading it 4 days.
Why I read it To finish up the Faerie Wars Chronicles. I was very impressed with the last 3 installments, and this is the concluding chapter.
Brief review
Faerie Lord is the final installment of the Faerie Wars series. I loved the first three books and looked forward to this concluding episode. I wrote about Herbie Brennan in my review of Ruler of the Realm. I generally enjoy his style. It is very quick flowing and has tons of great plot twists.
Unfortunately Faerie Lord was not as coherent or creative as the previous installments in this series. The basic plot revolves around a sudden epidemic of a time disease. The disease was interesting, it basically stole the future of the person who was infected a few years at a time. It is a little more complicated than that, but I'm having trouble explaining it, so I won't. How will Henry and the gang respond to this epidemic? Will they be successful or will the entire realm be infected and die in a few years? Only time will tell.
This book had twists, but they were not very smooth. The overall plot came together, but was not well developed in my opinion. I think Herbie Brennan can be a great writer, I read a review that said this book felt rushed. That's exactly how I felt once I saw those words. There was much more that could have been done to make this a great book. Instead, it was only a decent conclusion to a great series.
I would recommend this book to people who enjoyed the series, but don't expect it to be as good as its predecessors. It does give a solid conclusion to the series, but has enough open holes that if Herbie Brennan wanted to write more in the series he definitely could. If you haven't liked the series through the first three books, this book will not change your mind.
Favorite quote "He was doing something, which was always better than talking about doing something."
Stars 3 out of 5.
Final Word Unpolished.
I have enjoyed the rest of this series so when this came out, I got it right away. I liked it, but the plot was a little wierd at times (although better than I thought with the plot synopsis I read) and it wasn't written as well as the other books in the series in my opinion.
As far as would I buy it, yes, in a heartbeat, if nothing else then because it finally gives you good closure to the series. Reccommended from me, but not highly reccommended.
Henry Atherton has been desperately trying to forget about his friends in the Faerie Realm for the last two years, which is a bit hard considering his responsibility of looking after Mr. Fogarty's abandoned house and temperamental cat. It is while tending Hodge that Pyrgus and Nymph make a sudden reappearance.
Only...Pyrgus has aged considerably due to a mysterious disease running rampant throughout Faerie that is causing them to grow old at an alarming rate.
With very little persuasion, Henry plunges back into Faerie to aid the realm in the search for a cure. But soon he finds himself far, far away from The Purple Palace and in a desolate land with only an intelligent and primitive blue-skinned boy for company. Now it's a race against time to find a miracle that will save all of Faerie...
Old enemies, new friends, and an age-old battle are all mixed in with lovable and familiar characters to make up a thrilling conclusion to the riveting story that began in Faerie Wars. As Brennan's characters have grown and matured, so has his writing. Unfortunately, some characters aren't as present in Faerie Lord as they were in previous books, but the story line has more than enough drama, suspense, and mystery to make up for it.
Though readers will be sad that Henry, Pyrgus, and Blue's adventures have come to an end, the ending is one that is more than satisfying.
