The Surrender of Lacy Morgan edition by Suzanne Ferrell Romance eBooks Reviews
When the sins of her past finally catch up to her, Lacy Morgan has no choice but surrender her freedom to U.S. Marshall Quinn Halliday and Dakota O'Keefe, his blood brother and partner. Lacy never anticipates willingly giving up her heart along the way. Likewise, Quinn faces an internal turmoil when his ethical code demands he take Lacy in to face justice but his heart demands he keep her safe, by his side and in his bed.
Set in the Montana Territory, 1882, The Surrender of Lacy Morgan is a story of outlaws on the run, brothers seeking justice and an untraditional love story that had me saying "Ahhhh... " more than once. Ms. Ferrell has a very talented voice for writing gritty and vivid historical settings. She carries the reader right along with Quinn, Dakota and Lacy as they travel across country in search of the murdering thief Devil Morgan and his gang of marauders.
Lacy totally won me over as the heroine. She has spirit and determination that gave her the courage to break away from her step-father's gang. Even though she's scared to be taken back to Devil's den she draws on the wisdom her mother gave her, her inner strength and the love she has for Quinn to face her demons. Lacy grew up hearing and seeing women who followed the band of outlaws treated with less respect than the animals, including her mother. She is initially and understandably distrustful of Quinn and his motives.
Even though Quinn doesn't particularly like Lacy in the beginning he has a hard time fighting his attraction to the mixed heritage beauty. He recognizes the submissive in her pretty quick and uses that to gain her trust and help with finding Devil Morgan. Quinn and Dakota have a personal vendetta to settle regarding the heist that Lacy participated in. Ms. Ferrell's description of how Quinn is dealing with the loss of his adopted father was simply beautiful and heart breaking. You feel his loss and his emotions as he retells the story of how he and his brothers came to live with Cap and his wife, Juanita.
I love a story that gives clues to an ongoing series. Ms. Ferrell teases the reader by giving Dakota visions of a dark haired woman that he knows he's meant to find. At the same time we briefly meet more brothers Nicco, Ian and Will. It's apparent each brother has his own journey to happiness to make and this reviewer can't wait to journey right along with them. Don't miss the first in this amazing series and discover the beauty in Lacy's surrender.

Nothing about this book is entertaining unless this is what you want.Degrading and pure smut. If this is your thing you are welcome to it. Her other books were not so bad but this is beyond good reading in the trash section
Suzanne Ferrell is a gifted storyteller. Her debut novel not only sizzles with hotter-than-Texas-in-August love scenes, but has a full cast of believable characters and a plot that will keep you turning pages late into the night.
Whoa Nelly! This is probably the steamiest sex scenes I've read to date, 50 shades being the worst/best before. VERY KINKY. The story line is pretty good, there is more to the story than just the sex. I read this after reading other Suzanne Ferrell romantic suspence novels,Hunted and Kidnapped, which were less steamy and a better story all in all. I liked it and if Ms. Ferrell writes more about the other characters we meet in The Surrender of Lacy Morgan I'll probably buy those stories for my kindle, too.
Let me say first that I SERIOUSLY LIKED this book and would TRULY LOVE to read more about Quinn's blood brother Dakota's quest of his own "dark haired" soul-mate, brother Will, and the others only barely introduced, along with their own stories. Ferrell has openned a perfect opportunity in this first entry to establish her own full series within the Elorah's Legends line...though only if she allows her next entry to read a tad less Harliquinesque like, and lets her so called alpha males far more clearly establish their no-holes-barred Dom nature with their submissive conquest as I had fully expected...and found so sadly entirely lacking!!! As already stated above, it was all entirely TOO vanilla as an Ellorah's Cave entry!
On the positive side Ms Ferrell pens a wonderfully well written and entirely believable "period" storyline with very well described characters in a relationship the reader can easily visualize. The sex scenes, while clearly explicit and romanticly erotic, strictly intented as an adults only read, are not at all over-the-top, overly graphic, nor out of place within the context of the romance nor story...however unfortunatly just way more vanilla than should have been anticipated even within this storyline, and for the alpha male Dom Quinn who was very clearly bedding with a semi-nude "captive bound" submissive prisoner for night after night, and one who was so entirely opennly fully accessible and availible to his lustful raw empassioned masculine desires...especially once Lacy's own "hidden" truely sexual submissiveness to HIS wants and desires had become VERY clearly recognized by both partys quite early on in their relationship...even if it had only been because Quinn so obviously ached to "take her" and possses her body repeatedly for totally NHB sex till he'd seduced his entirely willing "prisoner" sexually raw between her lusty thighs AND a very well used and balls creamed back-door entry untill the heroine had become outright delirious and so well satiated he'd had to keep her upright in the saddle in front of him for the next morning's "ride"!!! (OK! CLEARLY a man's perspective!!!) While obviously HIGHLY dissappointed by where the author wholly excluded "going" in her heroine's seduction, as an entirely HETERO dom male who's exclusively so, I TOTALLY appreciated the non-m/m sexual connection of the brothers in their quasi menage' seduction of the heroine Lacy. And as an AVID erotica romance reader who frequently consumes 3 to 4 full-length novels weekly, I found this to be one that was hard to want to put down, or have brought to its perfectly believable conclusion...one that could, or perhaps should have been taken to a final LONG FULLY SEDUCING consumation of the lovers "new" happily-ever-after relationship in the hotel bedroom...or maybe ever better in a moonlight evening of all dominating endless passion under the stars a few miles outside of town, discovering enroute precisely HOW WELL her cowboy DOM could be truely "RIDDEN" sexually joined to her lusty rear-entry passage even while being held widely openned-up astride the saddle, already stripped entirely naked in front of him as they rode together toward new destinations and adventures as a couple!!! All I can say to you Ms. Farrell is GIVE ME MORE PLEASE, and by all means don't be afraid to let Dakota and Will to give their own sexual conquests a good bit more all consuming NHB possessivness, as any REAL DOM cowboy genuinely wouldn't have been the least bit unquestionably expected to have become in his seduction even then!!! Despite it's few flaws, to other readers...BUY IT!!! And as I've said already...WELL WRITTEN & READY FOR MORE OF THE BROTHERS STORIES!!!
What a exotic story. Takes you on a wild trip to that time of dresses and boots. It must of being a very different life to what we know. Lovely romance.
